UV stabilizers protect against the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays and prevent “photodegradation” of synthetic materials. They help retain colour in plastic products which are exposed to the sun’s rays for a long time. They slow down the process of fading in plastics; they increase resistance to fading. The additive’s main uses are in garden foils, outdoor crates, stadium seats and elements of building elevations.
Antistatics improve the short-term and long-term antistatic properties of products made of LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE and PP. They reduce surface resistance and prevent the attraction of dust. They stop the effect of “electrification” of a material, which is often noticeable on LDPE and HDPE foils. Antistatics are recommended for use in household hardware goods, buckets, containers and toys.
Antiblocks provide a smooth surface by reducing the surface adherence. Widely used as additives in the manufacture of LDPE and HDPE foil, they make plastic bags easier to open and stop the plastic sticking together.
Dessicant – a modifying additive in the form of a granulate, removing moisture and gases from the material. Widely used in products made from regranulates, millings and agglomerates when the material is moist or contains gas. Reaction of the active substance contained in the additive occurs directly during the process of plasticization or processing of the material. Use of the additive means that the material does not become gasified; it eliminates the formation of “scales” on foil made of regranulate, and makes drying the material unnecessary.
Slip additives reduce friction between a machine and a polymer, and between a polymer and a polymer surface. By increasing slippage they facilitate the plasticization of injection products, and protect machine elements from abrasion. Widely used in the production of foils from regranulates.
Antislip additives are used mainly in LDPE and HDPE foils. They reduce the slippage by causing roughness on the foil surface. The additives are used mainly in the production of packing foil to be used for sacks which will be stacked in layers on palettes.
Cleaning compounds enable cleaning of machines, chiefly injection moulders and extruders. They are recommended to ensure rapid change of material, change of colour or the removal of charred corroded residues from the surface of a machine, particularly when starting up a production line which has been unused for a long time.
Clarifiers or nucleating additives significantly improve clarity and reduce misting of polypropylene and all PP products made by injection, blow moulding and extrusion. PP with an added clarifier can be used in place of such plastics as PVC or PS. This is an additive which is used to increase the transparency of PP.
Odour absorbers are additives which remove an unpleasant smell from a polymer. Widely used in the processing of regranulates produced from waste from household chemicals, garden foil, vegetable sacks, etc. The additive also absorbs residues of gases formed during the production process.
Flame retardants are agents which reduce flammability, increase the material’s temperature of combustion, reduce the production of smoke and slow down the spread of flames. Widely used in all electrical products such as housings, switching stations, blocks, as well as stadium seats and fixtures of public buildings.
Foaming agents enable reduction of the weight of the final product, providing savings in material through reduction of the amount of raw material used in production. They cause materials to be filled in the manner of a foam.
MFI modifiers are additives which modify the MFI flow index in plastics, increasing the flow index in PP or PE. They make it possible to make thin-walled elements requiring a high flow index, using a plastic from a cheaper raw material with low flow index.
Perfume additives give products made from synthetic materials a particular smell depending on the type of additive used. The most commonly used smells are lemon, strawberry, vanilla and apple. By special request we can also offer many other fragrances, e.g. imitating the scent of perfume, cosmetics, fruit or flowers. The available range consists of more than 3000 different smells.
Antibacterial additives contain nanoparticles which eliminate the negative effects of bacteria. Widely used in plastic products such as household hardware goods, sanitary items, bathroom fixtures, packaging and medical accessories. They make it possible to reduce the negative effects of bacteria which may occur on the product’s surface.
